IT’S E150 000 FOR CORRECTIONAL LEAGUE

MATSAPHA - His Majesty’s Correctional Services Commissioner General League sponsorship has shot up to a whopping E150 000.


The annual league, which was launched in 2012, is the brainchild of Commissioner General Isaiah Mzuthini Ntshangase and helps officers from all the Correctional centres compete for silverware.


The commissioner general announced a revised package which has increased by E50 000 during a prize presentation of this year’s champions at a glamorous event held at the Correctional Staff College in Matsapha yesterday.
The news was met with broad smiles.


Graced


The event was graced by the who’s who of the football fraternity and guests that included Minister of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs David ‘Cruiser’ Ngcamphalala, Principal Secretary Prince Mlayeto and Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs Sibusiso Shongwe.
Ntshangase told the guests that the sole aim of the sponsorship was to promote fitness, friendship as well as unity among officers.


He assured the officers that the next tournament will be bigger and better, while announcing his department’s desire to introduce other sporting codes that include tennis, karate, boxing and swimming.


The commissioner congratulated the grand prize winners, Matsapha Correctional Centre who outclassed their contenders to rake in E25 000.
Also present were National Football Association of Swaziland (NFAS) President Adam ‘Bomber’ Mthethwa, Premier League of Swaziland (PLS) Chairman Victor Gamedze, as well as Correctional Services senior officials, to mention a few.
