LOBAMBA – Malanti Chiefs coach Charles Manda has disappeared from the team without trace.

The Malawian-born mentor, who joined early last month from Manzini Wanderers, was conspicuously missing during yesterday’s MTN League 0-2 loss to Mbabane Swallows at Somhlolo National Stadium. And the team was then left in the hands of former Mbabane Highlanders assistant coach Dumisani ‘2010’ Dlamini.

The club Director Dumisani Gumede said he was also shocked at the coach’s disappearance.
“We all do not know his whereabouts. I have been trying to call him since morning but his cellphone was switched off.”
He said he even contacted his Manager Zakhele Dlamini from TZD Sports Management who said he was out of the country.

“We will wait for him to brief us because we are not going to rush to conclusions. What if he is sick, because everyone in the team said they last spoke to him on Saturday at training,” he said.

Gumede allayed any fears of a rift between the team and coach, saying in as far as they were concerned, they were in good terms with Manda.
The team was then led by former Mbabane Highlanders Assistant Coach 2010 against Swallows.

The former Malawi international player joined Manzini Wanderers in August and led them to five games without a win. He had also not lost a match in open play. He then joined the gold and white ensemble and helped them climbed out of the danger zone. The coach was called later in the day but his cellphone was switched off.
