MANZINI – Newly appointed Manzini Sundowns Technical Director, Anteneh Eshete, is impressed with his new team.

Eshete, from Ethiopia, who arrived in the country on Wednesday, watched the green and yellow outfit in action in the goal-less draw with Red Lions in an MTN Premier League clash at Manzini Club Stadium on Saturday. He felt it was too early to comment much about the side but found their play on the day intriguing.

“It’s a good side but I have to watch more games to make an informed assessment.”
Eshete boasts of immeasurable experience in African football. He has a CAF A Licence and he is the continental football mother body’s instructor.  The 49-year old spent most of his time in South Africa and had a stint with Absa Premiership side, Amazulu. Other teams he led were Bush Bucks and Dynamos who were also a force to be reckoned with in the neighbouring country a few years ago.

Sundowns Chairman Mark Carmichael was proud to have a TD of Eshete’s calibre at the ambitious side and sounded confident that the latter would add value to the side.

“We want to keep him as long as possible.”
Teams are expected to have TDs as per the dictates of the CAF Club Licensing.
