MANZINI – It was an exciting clash of two women basketball teams, with one player running the show and keeping the crowd on its toes in a National Women’s League (NWL) game on Saturday at Mavuso Sports Emporium.

Mbabane side Hackers were favoured to win the game before kick-off, but lo and behold, Wizards Ladies proved to be the stronger side.
Hackers had a bright start to the match and they led until the last two minutes of the first quarter but new Wizards Ladies shooting guard Nancy Dlamini changed the complexion of the game completely with two quick three-point shots which put her team ahead, 6-8.

At the start of the second quarter, Dlamini, who was playing only her second game for the team she recently joined, continued where she left off with another two quick-fire and excellent shots from the rebound, one of which she amazingly executed to trigger a standing ovation from the spectators and her bench alike.

Hackers just could not contain her as she pushed the score to 18 points for her team which was clinical on the rim.
Hackers tried their best to come back into the match but the opposition scored with almost every attempt, pushing the game further out of reach for them.

Wizards Ladies eventually outsmarted Hackers 43-18 and jumped over them to third spot.
This game was one of many that played in the three various divisions of the Dups Swaziland National Basketball League (SNBL).
In the Elite Men’s League (EML), Mbabane Raptors continued to taste defeat as they fell at the hands of Imbumbe, who won 49-41.
