SOCIALITE PITSENG DIES AFTER SA CAR CRASH
MANZINI – A head on collision between an Iveco minibus and a Renault Clio has claimed the life of well-known socialite and North West University student, Pitseng Lungile Hlatjwako.
Pitseng (26) was pursuing her Master’s Degree in Accounting at the university and she was due to finish the course in two months’ time.
The news of her death was confirmed by her mother who is a former Ngwane Primary School teacher.
Olga Hlatjwako, who is also a businesswoman, said she was at a loss for words over the death of her daughter, who had just bought a new Renault Clio in South Africa.
She stated that Pitseng’s vehicle was involved in a head on collision with an Iveco minibus.
She said the family had not yet received a formal report as to what had caused the accident which occurred near Carolina, South Africa last week.
“God did not take my daughter’s spirit when the incident occurred as He wanted to prepare me for her death.
“I watched her on her hospital bed until the end and she looked like she was going to make it.
“Even the doctors had assured us as a family that she would be fine. When the incident occurred, her car engine rested on her legs and she had fractures.
“However, her heart, brain and everything else were perfect and the doctors’ reports from the theatre where she was operated on proved that,” the deceased’s mother said.
Olga revealed that on Saturday for the first time, Pitseng waved at her and also smiled, she said this was after she had assured her that she would not leave her bedside and would be staying with her the whole time at the hospital.
She added that her condition deteriorated on Sunday at about 8am and she could see that her daughter would not make it.
“At about 11am on Sunday, it was over. I have lost a great, down to earth person and the heavens are blessed to receive such quality. I cannot question God and have accepted all that has happened. My daughter’s driving was perfect as she always used to drive between the two countries without a problem. Ngeke Nkulunkulu asilinge ngalokungetulu kwemandla etfu,” she said.
Pitseng, also a former St Michael’s High School pupil, will be laid to rest on Saturday at Ngwane Park Cemetery at 6am after a memorial service on Friday at the Nazarene Sharpe Memorial Church scheduled for 1pm.
