LUDZIDZINI – Thousands of Imbali braved the cold weather to dance triumphantly before Their Majesties yesterday.

Imbali arrived at the arena at exactly 3pm after members of the public had spent over two hours in the arena waiting for them.
Their arrival marked the beginning of the day’s festivities as anticipation filled the air

Her Majesty the Queen Mother as well as Emakhosikati: LaMotsa, LaMbikiza, LaMagongo, LaNtentesa, LaMahlangu, LaNkambule, LaDube and LaFogiyane also came to watch the maidens strut their stuff at the Ludzidzini Royal Residence arena.

His Majesty King Mswati III arrived at 4pm with the regiment and there was obvious excitement from members of the public as they all stood and sang praises.
Imbali began its customary dancing before Their Majesties showcasing their different styles of traditional dance.

It took almost an hour for all the maidens to march before Their Majesties. The maidens had to be urged to march even faster as there seemed to be an unending stream of Imbali all eager to showcase their dancing skills.
Occasional appreciative screams could be heard from the crowd as the maidens, in their respective groupings, danced energetically before Their Majesties. Maidens from the three armed forces lived up to expectation as they thrilled everyone with their rhythmic dance moves that caught the attention of everyone as well as their matching traditional regalia.
