IMBALI TO GET E3.6M WORTH OF BAGS

LUDZIDZINI – The Republic of China on Taiwan donated E3.6 million worth of bags to be distributed to the Imbali during the Umhlanga Reed Dance ceremony which starts next week while Swazi MTN and Swaziland Post and Telecommunications Corporation (SPTC) donated E400 000 and E200 000, respectively.


The bags will be come by plane, the latest being on Monday.
The donation was made yesterday at the Ludzidzini Royal Residence before Her Majesty the Queen Mother and Inkhosatane Princess Sikhanyiso who is the patron’s Foundation.
Also, 1 000 basins were presented by Senator Mdluli, 150 by Minister of Sport Culture and Youth Affairs David Ngcamphalala on behalf of his ministry and 43 by Sabelo Dlamini from Swazi National High School.


SPTC Managing Director Petros Dlamni, Swazi MTN Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ambrose Dlamini were also in attendance as well as Princess Tsandzile.
Her Majesty the Indlovukati gave a word of thanks for the donations as she encouraged maidens to come in numbers for the cultural event which starts next week.
The Umhlanga national holiday will be on September 1.

“I would like to encourage the nation never to abandon their God-given culture as we have seen that Swazis have taken it upon themselves to uphold what God this nation,” said the Queen Mother.
“It would be very nice for parents of these children to come and see the good job done by these children so as to motivate them,” she said.


The Imdlovukati also noted that tourists seem to outnumber locals in gracing the cultural even yet “we should be encouraging and motivating our children”.
“Let us come in numbers and watch our children during this cultural activity,” implored the Queen Mother.
