LUDZIDZINI – The Kagwegwe faction chieftaincy candidate, Sikelela Simelane, was not unveiled to the Ludzidzini Council due to the ongoing activities at the royal residence yesterday.

The Kagwegwe faction led by the acting chief of the area, Gelane Zwane, was informed about the activities at the royal residence and later told to go back. According to Mfeneziyamthoba Magagula, the Indvuna of the Inner council at Kagwegwe, who was interviewed with the consent of Zwane, they had come fully prepared to unveil their would-be chief to the council.

Magagula said due to the ongoing activities at the royal residence they were ordered to go back and return next week. Members of the KaGodloza faction were also present to witness  the unveiling of Sikelela, which, however, did not take place. “Batsite bakaNgwane kutiliwe ngako asincandzeke sibuye evikini lelitako,” Magagula said.

First to arrive was the KaGodloza faction led by Malangeni Simelane.
They arrived at Ludzidzini at around 10am.
The faction could not believe it though, when they were turned back and protested, saying: “Gelane is on her way, why should we leave? What if she continues in our absence?”

They left the meeting room and assembled outside where they were addressed by Malangeni about further steps. Malangeni acknowledged that they were neither invited nor informed about the meeting.
He said they decided to take part because they also belong to Kontshingila. “We heard people talking about it and we took the initiative to come and hear what the acting chief would tell the council about Sikelela so that we could seek clarity if we had a chance,” Malangeni said.

Meanwhile, Zwane’s faction arrived about an hour after the dismissal of the KaGodloza faction.
The faction was comprised of about 40 people and was escorted by police officers.

Sikelela, however did not alight from the vehicle he was travelling in.
Zwane’s faction was attended to by several governors including Nkhanini’s Lusendvo Fakudze before they were informed about the prevailing situation.

I would like to say sorry to KaGwegwe faction for lokujikiswa kwabo. What is important now is to unveil the rightful chief , not who is unveiled first because now it seems others are hurrying to submit their candidate first. Then what if the one submitted first is the wrong one? Will his ancestors watch over him?

These factions should just calm down & ask the king to give them a special committee (which can be headed by me) which will bring the factions together kukhulunywe lendzaba where that committee will conclude who is the rightful chief.

If this is not done chieftaincy disputes will continue, & kutake kufe bantfu if kutakwentiwa lomjakisano.
