MBABANE – Mxolisi Dlamini, the brother and co-accused of Letshego Financial Services Chief Executive Officer, Mbuso Dlamini has alleged, in an affidavit, that the complainant consented to having sexual intercourse with him.

Mxolisi is facing a charge of rape after he was arrested by Manzini police officers.
The alleged rape is said to have occurred on June 1, 2014. The 23-year-old Mxolisi is accused of raping a 19-year-old teenager.

He stated that he will plead ‘not guilty’ to the charge of rape because the intercourse was consensual. The accused stated that because of this, he had a good and genuine defence to the charge of rape. Mxolisi stated that on Sunday, June 1, 2014, he was with the complainant at the Royal Swazi Spa in Ezulwini.

“The complainant and myself were in one of the hotels there and she agreed to having sexual intercourse with me,” alleged Mxolisi.
He lamented the allegation that he had unlawful sexual intercourse with the complainant.

She was not a  virgin – accused

MBABANE – Mxolisi Dlamini said the 19-year-old teenager he was accused of raping was not a virgin.
He alleged that she had a child from a previous relationship.

He also said nothing happened until July 25, 2014 when he was arrested by members of the Royal Swaziland Police (RSP). Mxolisi said he was kept in custody until July 28, 2014 after which he was remanded in custody at the Zakhele Remand Centre. The alleged rape is said to have been committed on June 1, 2014 while both Mxolisi and his co-accused, Mbuso Dlamini where at the Royal Swazi Spa.

They had also enjoyed some alcoholic beverages according to earlier reports. Mbuso is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Letshego Financial Services.
Mbuso, who was on Monday granted E15 000 bail, said they enjoyed a variety of alcoholic beverages before he booked a room for the trio.
He said he was from attending a traditional wedding with his brother at a Motsa residence in Manzini, a day before the alleged incident.

Mbuso stated that he did not have sexual intercourse with the complainant.
He further stated in court papers that he was shocked when he received a telephone call from the police advising him that the teenager’s mother had laid a charge of rape against him.

Its so annoying to hear a rapist saying 'the person I raped was not a virgin', does loosing your virginity gives anyone a right to have sex with you without your consent. This is ridiculous!

Being a virgin does not mean one deserves to be raped. Poor defence here. If it was me maybe I would plead with her appearance.

In reading the article, no where do I see a guilty verdict being passed by a competent court. I wonder then why these comments would state as a fact that there is a rapist. Let us please be responsible when making comments. Charges have been preffered against these brothers. Such will be tested in a COURT of law.
