LOZITHA – Once again His Majesty King Mswati III has shown his desire to have Swazis educated as he asked the Czech Republic to assist the country by offering scholarships.

The king said this when he received a letter of credence from the new Czech Republic Ambassador to Swaziland Blanka Fajkusova at Lozitha Palace yesterday afternoon.
Programmes
His Majesty said he hoped that the two countries would continue to exchange programmes and find new areas where they could assist each other.
“We have a good working relationship, especially in exchanging programmes. I hope the two countries will find new areas where they would support each other like scholarships as we can be very glad if the Czech Republic can offer it to our deserving students,” he said.

On another note, His Majesty King Mswati III urged the ambassador to invite more investors and tourists to the country, He said the country had a lot of things to offer and said it had launched a new airport, the King Mswati III International Airport, which the country hopes it would give easy access to tourists and investors when visiting the country.

Trade

The ambassador said the level of trade between the two countries was much below its potential. She said the promotion of mutual beneficial economic and trade relation would constitute a priority of her work.
“I strongly believe that there are opportunities on both sides. My country’s companies can offer expertise in many areas of interest for the Kingdom of Swaziland, for example, the energy sector, including renewable energy, mining and the food processing industry,” she said.

His Majesty the King also received a letter of credence from the new High Commissioner of India to Swaziland, Pavan Kapoor. The new high commissioner said his country was happy to learn that the Information Technology Park and agricultural development and mechanisation projects, which they sponsored with E210 million and E397.95 million respectively, were progressing well.

He said his country recalled His Majesty’s participation in the 2nd India Africa Forum Summit in Addis Ababa in May 2011 and said his country was preparing to host the 3rd edition of the summit to be held in Delhi later this year and they were looking forward for the country’s participation at the landmark event to consider further ways to take forward project assistance between India and its African partners.
Meanwhile, the king appreciated the scholarships that India offers to the country’s students and said most of them came back with good news like that they had been taken good care of and given good education.
