MBABANE – ACC boss Advocate Thanda Mngwengwe said he never introduced himself as a Maseko to the woman who has taken him to court over the paternity of a child.

He also denied that he ever accepted the responsibility of the pregnancy. ACC is the Anti Corruption Commission.
The woman, Nomfundo Sibandze, a student at the Swaziland College of Technology (SCOT), is seeking an order compelling the former boss of the now defunct SA Scorpions to undergo a second paternity test at her instance and in a clinic convenient to all parties.

She alleged that there were anomalies during the first paternity test which was conducted at Lancet Laboratories in Manzini.
In the court papers, Mngwengwe has been cited as the first respondent while Lancet Laboratories (Manzini) is the second respondent.
Sibandze of Fairview in Manzini is represented by Nhlanhla Ginindza from NE Ginindza Attorneys.

She alleges that she was in an intimate relationship with Mngwengwe who allegedly introduced himself as Thanda Maseko, hence at all material times she had known him as Thanda Maseko.
Mngwengwe, who is represented by lawyers from Magagula Hlophe Attorneys, is opposing Sibandze’s application to have another paternity test conducted.  The ACC boss is also denying the paternity of the child.

In his answering affidavit, Mngwengwe stated that he never introduced himself as Maseko to Sibandze.
“I admit that I have always denied and disputed paternity of the child. It is for this reason that we arranged for paternity tests to be conducted. This was to prove that I was not the father of the minor child. The tests conclusively excluded me from being the biological father of the minor child,” Mngwengwe stated.

He further denied that Sibandze was not in any other intimate relationship at the time, submitting that during that period Sibandze was involved in an intimate relationship with one Mancoba Dlamini. “I wish to point out that there is no basis for the applicant’s (Sibandze) dissatisfaction with the results. The paternity test using DNA profiling is a scientifically proven method of excluding a falsely accused man from being the father. The tests were conducted properly,” alleged the ACC boss.

Mngwengwe also denied that there were anomalies during the testing. In the answering papers, Mngwengwe further stated that Sibandze was proffering the complete false version of the events in a bid to create a basis for further tests to be conducted.

I assume that. DNA test has two objectives. From the point of view of paternity it seeks to either prove or disprove that the man is the father. Accepting that DNA is a science, which ordinarily should not be amenable to manipulation, why is the alleged father opposing a retake of the test? It should give the same result, unless of course there is something else going on here.

Its so sad that such a reputatable man can be accused of such, the mere thought of him being invovled in such acts id mind boggling. It makes you wonder whether, if he trully is guilty of such an unscruoplous act, what kind of father is he to his kids back home.
