LOBAMBA – Members of the Jericho Red Gown Sect under Bishop Khanyakwezwe Vilakati turned over tables where vendors had displayed their wares during the Easter services.

The congregants, who seemed to be in spirits, went over to where the vendors had set up their tables and literally threw their wares to the ground.
This was after the vendors were warned by the church elders not to conduct business closer to where the congregation was worshipping.

This happened at Lobamba National High School during a vigil. Bishop Khanyakwezwe first warned the vendors against selling close to the place of prayer.
However, his warnings fell on deaf ears as the vendors remained there until the congregants finished their opening prayer.

The Jerichos, who were speaking in tongues, turned over the tables and in the process spilling the food that the vendors were selling.
The bishop confirmed the incident, but said he was only aware of only one table. He, however, said the congregants mistakenly touched the table because it was in their way.

Disturb

“This is not a market place but a place of prayer. Move back so that you do not disturb the church,” the bishop warned the vendors.  “Before we came to this place we were congregating at Nokwane and Princess Lonhlanhla requested that we be placed at Lobamba National,” said the bishop.

He said they were forced to walk long distances after the relocation.
When confirming the incident the bishop said; “Yes it happened that some boys who were praying touched the vendor’s table. It overturned and the foodstuff fell onto the ground. She came forward and reported the incident. It was sorted amicably after we explained that it was not done intentionally,” said the bishop.

He said in the future people should remember that Jesus Christ did not allow people to sell, eat or buy in a place of prayer. “We are not against people earning their living but they should respect a place of prayer,” he said.

On another note, the bishop said it had been observed that some members of the church wore gowns with their own designs and fabric. “You will by no means worship without the sashes on your head. If you are not comfortable with the gowns and sashes go to where you got the spirit,” he warned.

He also reminded the congregants that ancestors were very important in the church.
“The Bible says we should not speak vile things about the dead. Remember what was said by Joseph about the bones of the dead. He said they should not be abandoned. Carry on with cleansing ceremonies, though some defy them,” he said.

This is a very good reminder to many christians today that the house of God is a house of prayer not a place of robbers and money exchangers. This was a wrong thing done to the vendors because they were outside! What about those who are doing it inside the churches? Jerichos now must go from ministry to ministry around the country and remind christians that the church is a house of prayer. They must look at the offering baskets, envelops and do the same. I am very sorry for the vendor for they are earning a living in hard way! Jerichos part of your mission is good; move on to the big churches condemn this behavior done by fat and rich Pastors manipulating the poor. Good start!

This is a good start. Many churches and ministries are doing this money exchanging thing instead of regarding the church as a house of Prayer. I am very sorry for the vendors as they were earning a living in a hard way.

You Jerichos now you have to visit every church and do the same as you look into the offering baskets and envelopes the you will know that you have rebuked innocent vendors!

Indeed we Know that u were trying to make Profits so that maybe u can be able to topay school, fees for ur Kids or to buy them thr basic needs. But we should know Good mortals that a church is a church and a market place is a market place,so don't turn things upside down.So Good Swazis Respect first.
