INDLOVUKAZI RECEIVES E400 000 DONATIONS ON BEHALF OF PHILANI

LUDZIDZINI- Companies and individuals have made donations worth over E400 000 towards Philani Maswati Charity organisation.


The donations were presented to Her Majesty the Indlovukazi yesterday at the Ludzidzini Royal Residence. They will be used during Her Majesty’s visit to the elderly at Buhleni later this month.
The companies which donated included Logico, The Republic of China on Taiwan’s Embassy, Kurnitz, Swazi Mills, Inkosi Auto Parts, African Alliance, African Candles, Somi, Poly Pack, Buy Cash and others.
The donated items included bread, cooking oil, blankets, chickens, cows, T-shirts, money, fruit trees and services by doctors and nurses.


Her Majesty thanked the donors and said she was happy with them being part of Philani Maswati and helping them in assisting the needy elderly.
She said taking care of the elderly was a cause close to their hearts. She said she knew the elderly of Hhohho could not wait for the day of the organisation’s visit.
“The elderly have showed us the way to live, they took care of us and taking care of them is a cause close to our hearts. The elderly can no longer take care of themselves, so we thank all of you for supporting us in this cause,” she said.


She said the elderly were faced by the predicament of raising their grandchilcdren, who had been rendered orphans due to the HIV/AIDS pandemic, and said when they visited them; they also had to have something for the children.
She thanked the companies for their continued support, which she said was growing with each day. The Chairman of the charity organisation, Lutfo Dlamini said it was a first to have so many companies making donations.


“It is the first time in history for us to receive so much support,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Ambassador of the Republic of China on Taiwan’s, Thomas Chen said they were glad to present E20 000 to be used by the charity organisation.
He said His Majesty the King had said, during the official opening of Parliament that the elderly of the country had made a lot of contributions, hence it was time for them to rest and enjoy the fruits of their toil.
“We will also have the nurses and doctors posted at the Mbabane Government Hospital to render their services during the day,” he said.


Chief Solani of Hhohho said the chiefs of the area saw it fit to donate 18 cows to be slaughtered during the day.
Dumisani Dlamini, a fruit tree farmer asked the Indlovukazi to help the youth of the area in establishing a fruit canning company, and also asked for donations to grow 20 000 trees, so that they could stay away from drugs. Mduduzi Simelane of Emagawugawu offered to provide entertainment for the elderly on the day.
