MALIYADUMA – The wife of troubled gospel artist Mzwakhe Myeni is eager to see the ‘disputed baby’.

Khanyisile Myeni (nee Nsibande) said she had no qualms seeing the 15-month-old baby and meeting the 17-year-old mother because, "eventually, that will have to happen".

During an interview at her home in Maliyaduma on Thursday, she said it was almost procedural that at the end of it all, they would meet the baby.

She said as the baby was still young, this would have to happen in the presence of the mother.

Bothers

"I see nothing wrong with meeting them because if the need arises, we will definitely have to meet. I am Mzwakhe’s wife and anything that happens around him also affects me," she said.

She said she would not get into details of the matter because it was still with the family attorneys.

Mzwakhe’s eldest brother Vusi, said even though he was aware of the dispute, he had not been informed about any arrangements with regards to meeting the baby’s maternal family.

He said he was yet to find out about the matter.

Mzwakhe was dragged into a dispute after the teenage mother claimed he was the biological father of the baby named Tebenguni. Mzwakhe is registered as the father in the baby’s hospital card.

I won’t be shaken - wife

MALIYADUMA – Speaking in a relaxed mood, Mzwakhe Myeni’s
wife said she valued her marriage a lot to be shaken by the disputed child’s incident.

Khanyisile Myeni said just about every family had its fair share of problems.

Responding to questions from the reporter at her home on Thursday, she said her family problems were no different from any other family’s.

"We will handle and amicably solve whatever problems we encounter in the family. As a woman, I must support my husband because I vowed I would stick by him in happiness and in sorrow," she said.

Myeni said every marriage experienced its own problems and hers was no exception.

Pillar

"I trust the God that I serve. He is always there for me and will always be my pillar. I have not moved an inch from Him and I know He will always provide me with the strength that I need," she said.

Wife did not expect a ‘blameless’ husband

MALIYADUMA – Khanyisile Myeni has defended her husband, who is accused of denying paternity of a 15-month-old baby girl.

She said when she married him, she was not looking for a ‘blameless’ man but loved him and was willing to spend her life with him as his wife.

Myeni said she cannot then change her stand when they experience problems because she entered into marriage knowing very well that as human beings, any of them would have mistakes.

Strongest

"I believe the strongest marriages that we have are the ones that undergo such problems," she said.

The Myenis have two children, girls aged six and four.

When asked how the children were coping, with the current controversy involving their father, she said, "We are trying to handle the matter with care so that the children do not get affected. Anyway, they are quite young; so far they cannot fully comprehend what is going on".
