PROPHET ACCUSED OF RAPING GIRL (17) DURING PRAYER

MANZINI- A prophet has been accused of raping a 17-year-old girl while praying for her.

Felix Mfezi Fezile Tfwala (41) of Ekutsimuleni, who is known to be a prophet at Bhekinkhosi, is allged to have raped the minor girl while on her way home at Ekutsimuleni. According to a source, the girl was on her way home when the prophet met her along the way and started prophesying to her. It is alleged that he then prayed for the girl, ordering her to take off her clothes as he was reportedly ‘led’ by the spirit. Tfwala appeared before Acting Manzini Magistrate Sicelo Lokothwayo on the charge of contravening Section 3(1), 3 (b), (6) as read with (9) (b) of the Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Act 15 of 2018.

Forced

According to the charge sheet, the accused unlawfully and intentionally forced *Cynthia into sexual intercourse. This happened at Ekutsimuleni on August 14. Aggravating factors as envisaged by Section 185 of the Criminal Procedure and Evidence Act 67 of 1938 include that the accused did not use protection, exposing the minor to sexually transmitted diseases such as STIs and HIV. It was also stated that he caused trauma to the alleged survivor by the act, as well as that she was a minor. Meanwhile, a 17-year-old scholar was arrested and charged for allegedly raping a 14-year-old whom they attend the same school with.

The duo is doing Form II at a school based at Hlatikhulu. It was gathered that they, along with others, attended an event in Mbabane and when they returned, the accused allegedly forced himself on the survivor.  The accused was charged for contravening Section 3 (1) of the Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Act of 2018.  In court, the accused came with his mother. It was said in court that cases that included the one the minor was faced with were now prosecuted at the High Court. He was then warned and released to her parent for December 18, 2023, pending his court appearance.
