MBABANE – Residents at the lawyer’s parental home are outraged by his acts of allegedly sexually molesting young girls in the community.

This was disclosed by the investigating officer, Inspector Millicent Dlamini, in her opposing affidavit. She denied the assertion by the lawyer that he was a law-abiding citizen as he allegedly continuously and repeatedly raped his children for a long period of time without having been brought to justice. “The community knows about the shenanigans of the applicant and is very much aggrieved. The applicant has always bragged that he is an attorney and no one can arrest him, and this has been believed by the ordinary citizen as he has been arrested before but always came out of custody,” argued Inspector Dlamini.

She submitted that it would not be in the interest of justice to grant the applicant bail at this stage of the proceedings as she was fully aware that on conviction of these offences, he might be liable to serve a term of imprisonment not exceeding 20 years. “The likelihood, therefore, that he may evade trial is now at an all-time high, now that he knows the serious nature of the offences against him. The offences committed by the applicant have very stiff penalties once found guilty and that on its own may compel him to evade trial as it is custodial in nature,” submitted the investigator.

It was further her contention that the likelihood of his interference with the State witnesses was almost unavoidable, as the main witnesses were his cousins who stayed at his homestead.
She highlighted that the lawyer and the witnesses were blood relatives and he had easy access to them as he had their cellphone numbers and knew where they could be found and could effortlessly influence or intimidate them. Inspector Dlamini said the fact that the children were removed by government was not a prohibiting factor to the interference as he could be in a position to interfere with them. According to the investigator, there were other witnesses who were relatives of the applicant who lived closer to his home area and were employed in Manzini with whom he could interfere.
