TWO MORE COVID-19 DEATHS

MBABANE – The Ministry of Health announced two new COVID-19-related deaths yesterday, bringing the total to 108 in the country. 

The cases were confirmed by the Minister of Health, Lizzie Nkosi. 

The first death is of a 74-year-old man from the Shiselweni Region. 

He died on Tuesday at a health facility while undergoing treatment as a COVID-19 suspect. 

His results came out positive for COVID-19, according to the minister.   

The second death was of a 66-year-old woman from Hhohho Region, who died yesterday at a health facility while undergoing treatment as a confirmed COVID-19 case. 

Meanwhile, there were 36 new COVID-19 cases that were recorded yesterday. 

Discovered

The cases were discovered from 166 tests. This means that the total number of COVID-19 cases is 5 343. 

Manzini Region recorded 22 cases while Hhohho had 13 new cases and one from the Shiselweni Region. 

Also, asymptomatic cases were 10 while those with a mild disease were 26. 

By gender, there are 2 847 females cases in total while males are 2 496. 

The youngest reported cases yesterday were four in the 10 to 19 age bracket and the oldest was one in the 70 to 79 years age group. There were 21new recoveries that were registered yesterday. 

The total number of recoveries now stands at 4 693. This means that active cases are 542 while deaths are 108. 

The difference between active cases and recoveries is 4 151 in favour of the latter.
