147 NEW CASES, ONE DEATH

MBABANE- The number of daily infections is increasing! Yesterday, 147 people were confirmed positive for COVID-19 among 421 tests that were conducted. This brings the total number of cases to 2551 in the country.


Also, one more death was recorded, bringing the total number of deaths to 40.
This was revealed by the Minister of Health Lizzie Nkosi in a statement that informs the public of the status of COVID-19 in Eswatini.
Among the 147 cases that were confirmed positive for the virus, 83 were from the Hhohho Region, 50 were from the Manzini Region, 11 were from the Lubombo Region and three were from the Shiswelweni Region.


Announce


Nkosi said the Ministry of Health was sad to announce one new COVID-19 related death.
“The 40th COVID-19 related death is of a 68-year-old woman from Manzini Region who presented to one of the country’s hospitals with severe respiratory symptoms and complications from other pre-existing conditions. She passed away while being treated as a COVID-19 suspect and results came back confirming COVID-19 diagnosis,” she said. She said the Ministry of Health thanked all frontline staff in this COVID-19 fight.
