MBABANE - The man who is accused of stabbing a church security guard to death while at Fun Town in Fonteyn has appeared in court charged with murder

.
Simangaliso Charles Dunn (28) of Fonteyn, made his appearance before Magistrate Temantimandze Shongwe. It is alleged that upon or about August 18, 2019 at or near Fun Town Pub and Grill, Dunn wrongfully, unlawfully and intentionally assaulted Bongani Littler with open hands, a beer bottle and further stabbed him in the throat with the broken beer bottle.

It is alleged that Littler died from the fatal wounds which he sustained during the assault. The Crown applied that Dunn’s blood samples be taken for purposes of criminal investigations.

Objection

Dunn told the court that he had no objection to the taking of his blood samples. The State further applied that Dunn be remanded in custody until August 30, 2019 pending committal to the High Court.
He was also advised to move his bail application at the High Court.

He appeared in court clad in a striped jersey, chequered jacket, khaki pants and sneakers.
He left the court carrying his charge sheet without handcuffs. Unlike the other suspects who hid from the cameras, Dunn never made any attempt to hide his face.

Employed

Information gathered from those who were at the popular drinking spot was that Littler, who was employed by the Worship Centre Church, was a regular patron at the drinking spot where his life was ended in the wee hours on Sunday.
His body was discovered soaked in blood by one of the staff members in the morning.

The suspect was identified through a close circuit television (CCTV) footage from a camera which is installed within the vicinity.
According to the CCTV footage which was seen by Littler’s relative, the suspect appeared slapping him (Littler) before searching his pockets. The suspect was also seen breaking a beer bottle which he allegedly used to stab Littler several times on the neck.
