TSC TO HIRE OVER 2 000
MBABANE – The year will start on a good footing for some graduates.This is for those who completed their studies in courses that are related to the teaching profession. These aspirant teachers should be all smiles as the Teaching Service Commission (TSC) will soon recruit about 2 000 teachers in the upcoming weeks.
According to impeccable sources, ordinarily when the commission hired teachers, most were temporary teachers - who were employed on a contract basis.
These often include those who had completed Form V and university graduates.
Their contracts vary from three months to two years. Meanwhile, qualified teachers are those who were trained to teach.
The employment of the teachers is said to be in preparation for this year’s academic year, which starts next week Tuesday, January 22, 2019.
The source said the temporary employed teachers were in most instances posted to schools in the rural areas as these learning institutions were the most without educators.
The 2 000 teachers to be recruited will be made up of temporary and permanent educators. It was explained to this publication that the number of teachers to be employed was means to replace those who had left the teaching profession. “They shall be replacing people who retired, those who passed on, those who went back to further their studies while also part of the teachers shall be replacing those who did not have their contracts renewed.”

Meanwhile, the pending employment of teachers was confirmed by the TSC Chairperson, Simanga Mamba. He said further details on the recruitment of the teachers shall be discussed in the upcoming weeks.
