SITEKI – When Mduduzi Mmeli Theophelus Zwane got a three-month job in South Africa in 2013, his family was excited that he would finally get busy after being idle for a while.

However, his migration to the neighbouring country would culminate in his disappearance, which remains unsolved six years later.
Zwane, who was born and went to school in Siteki, was 28-years-old when he went missing in South Africa in 2013.
He would have turned 34 years on Saturday.

However, instead of celebrating his birthday, his family spent the day wondering what could have happened to him.
“I’ve lost weight as you can see; I also suffer from high blood pressure because of this issue. I can’t sleep properly because of his disappearance,” said his half sister, Sizakele Dlamini.

She stated that Zwane got a job through a member of the family who runs an employment agency locally.
She said a female friend of the family member, who resides in Johannesburg South Africa, needed someone to stay at their house for three months.
“Our sister arranged for Mduduzi to go to South Africa. And we were all happy when he left,” said Dlamini.

Upon settling in South Africa, Dlamini said Zwane would constantly call and check on the family and most of the time, he would call his nephews to check how they were doing.

At some point, she said Zwane came back to Eswatini for a short visit but returned to South Africa after his stay.
And when he returned to his work -place in South Africa, that would be the last time family members saw him, said Dlamini.

She said Zwane had worked for exactly three months when the family was informed that he had gone missing.
Dlamini said a family member, who stays in South Africa, was told that Zwane left his place of work and never returned.
