MBIKWAKHE – When the clock struck 3:20pm yesterday, Apostle Vusimuzi Maculuve was officially ordained as a bishop.

The teacher and student at the University of Eswatini (UNESWA), is the founder of the God Cares Christian Fellowship situated at Mbikwakhe. The official ordination was held yesterday afternoon and was officiated by Archbishop Bheki Lukhele of All Nations Church, who was asked by Maculuve’s church committee to be the officiator. He encouraged Apostle Bishop Maculuve to continue with the work of the Lord and keep his faith, even when challenges engulfed him. The archbishop said Maculuve had to face the challenges he went through in his life as this was preparation for the position he assumed.

“This means you now have to work extra hard in serving the people and God. You now have a bigger responsibility as a leader and this title is not about taking a back seat, you have to be committed and lead by example,” Lukhele said. He added that the church offices should be respected and be a place where people received help and where God’s work was done, nothing else. The event was three-pronged as Apostle Bishop Maculuve also celebrated his 40th birthday and officially opened the church’s offices. In front of over 300 people, the newly-ordained bishop said he was ready to do God’s work. He said this was a special day for him as he was growing as a man of God.

“I thank my church, my family, Archbishop Lukhele and his church for supporting me throughout this journey. You have been by my side since the beginning and I will never forget what you did for me. May God richly reward you,” Maculuve said. In addition, he said this was the beginning for him as people would see more from him. He said he would be available to his church members and other people who may need his assistance. Before the ordination, the congregation was treated to live performances from artists such as Nonhle Mthethwa, Scara Maziya, Matsapha Gospel Messengers and MP Mduduzi ‘Gawuzela’ Simelane.
