LUDZIDZINI – “Ngemandla” (by royal command)! The nation has been summoned to the Cattle Byre (Sibaya) by His Majesty King Mswati III tomorrow at 11am sharp.

The urgent announcement was made by acting Ludzidzini Governor Lusendvo Fakudze at the Ludzidzini Royal Residence yesterday at 11am.
Although the agenda was not revealed by the acting indvuna, members of the public are already anticipating the announcement of the new prime minister, which usually  happened around this time, according to precedence.

The nation’s excitement is heightened by the fact that they know that it will be a new face, following that despite the former PM’s death, it was already known that he was not eligible for a third consecutive term.
Fakudze informed representatives of the Ministry of Home Affairs to make the necessary transport arrangements so the entire nation could converge at the Cattle Byre on time.

James Vilakati, the Celebrations Officer at the ministry, confirmed that transport to ferry the public would leave various points from all the regions in the country, from 6am.
Vilakati emphasised that the transport would be free and they were not expected to, at any point, pay a fee for the public transport vehicles.
He thanked Their Majesties for having the confidence in them to ensure that they would organise the transport to ferry the public.

Meanwhile, social media, particularly Facebook, was already abuzz with speculation on who the new leader of government business would be.
Many names have already been thrown around and they include the likes of former PM and current Tibiyo MD Absalom Themba Dlamini, former Public Service Pension Fund (PSPF) CEO Cleopas Dlamini, Secretary to Cabinet Mbuso Dlamini and former Senator David Dlamini.

Surprise

However, other users are optimistic that perhaps the new premier would be a surprise and actually be female.
“Have you considered that it may be a female?” asked one user. The name of appointed MP Pholile Shakantu (Dlamini) was put as an example.
Another popular name which has been suggested for the hot seat was that of Eswatini MTN CEO Ambrose Dlamini, former Senator Chief Fipha and former DPM Paul Dlamini.

However, all this remains public speculation following that the King put a twist as he appointed former MP Prince Hlangabeza on both lists of  his 10 appointees in the House of Assembly and the 20 Senate appointees.

This means that there would be a person who will be moved to the House of Assembly. The PM is always a member of the House of Assembly.
Meanwhile, other social media users were not concerned about who the next PM would be, but were quick to state that tomorrow was a ‘holiday’. “My bosses should not expect me at work as the King has summoned us, so I will stay at home and watch it from Eswatini TV,” said one Facebook user.

In 2008, the nation was made to wait for about six hours to hear the announcement of the new PM, as they had arrived as early as 10am, which had been the scheduled time.
However, in 2013, the nation knew in three hours that Dlamini was the reappointed PM as the King announced at around 2:30pm.
