MBABANE – The news may flow smoothly at the Eswatini Broadcasting and Information Services, but all is not well behind the scenes.

This follows a peace-binding order issued by Magistrate Lenhle Zulu, between two Senior News Reporters Dumisani Magagula and Nomvula Fakudze.
According to the final court order, which was issued and stamped July 27, 2018, the court ordered that the parties should restrain from harassing one another and ordered to keep and maintain peace with each other and refrain from any conduct likely to cause a breach of same.

“Parties should refrain from threatening one another and sending messages with comments of threats in them,” further read the order, which further ordered the Royal Eswatini Police Service to serve on the respondent, who in this instance was Fakudze.

However, Magagula then wrote a letter to the Mbabane principal magistrate, requesting for a review of the peace-binding order.
Magagula stated that he believed Magistrate Zulu erred in the manner in which she handled the matter, as his (Magagula’s) decision to approach the court was prompted by the nature of their conflict and circumstances surrounding it.

“Fakudze, who is my colleague at Eswatini Broadcasting and Information Services, approached our Head of Section sometime in April, alleging I was harassing her,” wrote Magagula.
Magagula further alleged that Fakudze, however, failed to provide evidence or proof to support her claim and he had never communicated with her directly or indirectly on any matter.
