MBABANE – A 28-year-old man of Mankayane failed to beat the intelligence of the police at Ngwenya Border Gate.

Ngcweliso Msibi was arrested at the border gate after 15 blocks of dagga weighing 3.6kg were discovered inside a petrol tank of a car he was travelling in.
Appearing for trial before Magistrate Lenhle Zulu at the Mbabane Magistrates Court, Msibi pleaded guilty to the charge.

Testifying against Msibi, Constable Kuphala informed the court that the illegal herb was discovered during the search at the border gate.
He said their previous experience led to the discovery of the dagga which was floating inside the petrol tank which was full.
This, he said, was because dagga was not easily detected inside a petrol tank.

Kuphala said the discovery of the illegal substance was the second incident at the border gate.
In the first incident, he said a man from South Africa was caught at the same border gate using the same modus operandi.
Msibi was sentenced to two years imprisonment with an option to pay a E2 000 fine.

Information gathered from some dagga dealers was that science was involved when stuffing dagga inside a petrol tank.
