MANGCONGCO – Two decomposed bodies were found in separate places last week.

One of the bodies is that of a 24-year-old man who went missing last week.
He was found with his private parts, tongue and heart allegedly missing.

The other was that of a 30-year-old man whose corpse was found in a thicket around Velezizweni.
The 24-year-old has been identified as Sizo Shongwe, who went missing on July 20, 2018 and his family reported his disappearance to the Royal Eswatini Police Service (REPS) Bhunya Police Station the following day. His decomposed body was found by a team of about 50 residents, led by Shongwe’s grandfather, who is the community Indvuna, Masoma Solomon Zwane.

This was after a dog was seen at a certain homestead carrying a decomposed arm, which then later led to the shocking discovery.
The indvuna said he suspected that his grandson was murdered for ritual purposes as medical doctors at the Raleigh Fitkin Memorial (RFM) Hospital confirmed that the three body parts, (heart, private parts and tongue) were missing.

Narrating incidents leading to Sizo’s disappearance, Masoma said his grandson was sent to buy candles at the nearest store when he met up with a friend, who suggested that they head to Malutha instead.
“Upon arrival at Malutha, they ran their errands and got into a bar where they enjoyed t alcoholic beverages. When they realised that it was late, they went into a homestead where one of their friends was.

They sat there and continued drinking until the two friends fell asleep,” Zwane said.
He added that his grandson took a decision to leave the two friends and walk home, mainly because he knew that his family needed the candles. Zwane said it was then that he suspected Sizo met up with his assailants, who attacked and killed him.

“When we discovered that he had not returned home, we contacted the friend who had been with him as he had alerted us that he was travelling with him to Malutha. He narrated everything about their trip there and that Shongwe had eventually left during the night. We then made a decision to contact the police as his disappearance was suspicious and further went looking for him with others residents. While searching for him, we received information that his backpack had been found by a certain family, and there was bread, candles and two Sibebe beers inside,” Zwane added.

He mentioned that upon enquiring about the bag and whether anyone knew of his whereabouts from the family, Zwane said they only handed over the bag and said it had been found near a thick forest.
