MANZINI – New Covenant of Jesus Christ Ministries church members have mourned the demise of Bishop Enoch Maseko’s wife.

Some of the congregants visited the bishop’s home yesterday to pass their condolences following the demise of the pastor’s wife, Mary Maseko nee Gwebu (53), who died on Tuesday after she allegedly ingested a poisonous substance.

The congregants revealed she was a very compassionate and generous woman of God.
“She was a God-fearing woman, however, we had not been seeing her during church services of late. She was a respectable woman of God and instead of making a lot of speculation surrounding her death, let us celebrate her life.

She has gone to be with her God whom she served and loved very much,” one of the congregants, who did not want to reveal her identity, said yesterday. Another said the church would miss the woman who had a big heart and had raised children who also feared the Lord.

“Those who knew and worked with her can tell you that she was a gentle woman with a strong faith base, someone who had a gift of developing leadership in others as well. “However, she missed church services over the past Sundays and as a church we were not informed why,” the congregant said.

Yesterday, mourners who comprised mainly congregants, other members of the public and civil servants packed the bishop’s home to pass their condolences.
The bishop who was locked inside the main house failed to attend to the media outside as many people kept on arriving at his home.
Funeral arrangements for the Bishop’s wife are yet to be announced.
