MBEKELWENI – Senior lawyer and former acting High Court Judge Sidumo Mdladla yesterday sealed his marriage contract to wife Titi when he paid 18 cattle as lobola.

The perfect sunny and warm weather conditions that followed Friday’s cold, wet climate saw members of the royal family, judges, lawyers, CEOs, former Members of Parliament, friends and other well-wishers coming out in their numbers to witness the colourful ceremony.

Held at KaZombodze behind Lozitha Royal Residence, the lobola ceremony was dominated by traditional attire, spiced up with western clothing by some attendees, but traditional dances, which were performed with aplomb, were the order of the day.

His Majesty the King’s praise singer, Cethuka Dlamini, was commanding the proceedings and made sure that everything went according to plan. After the singing and dancing to traditional songs, the groom and bride, as well as all guests, moved to a perfectly assembled and decorated white tent where food and drinks were enjoyed.
The festivity continued into the night as guests enjoyed music that was played by a disc jockey.
