LWANDLE – Manzini socialite Dumisani ‘DVK’ Nkambule (42), a firstborn son to former Manzini South MP Thandi Nxumalo, is dead. According to the former MP, her son was found dead in his flat in Ngwane Park on Wednesday afternoon.

The former legislator said DVK, as he was widely known, was found by a friend, who was believed to have come to deliver a message to him.
She said her suspicions were that her son, who had gout and heart problems, died due to complications of the sicknesses.
When narrating events which took place before her son’s death, the ex-MP said on Tuesday night, DVK could not sleep as he called her at around 2am on Wednesday in deep pain and complaining that the gout had gotten worse.

Nxumalo said she advised her son to take his medication because usually after taking it, he became better. She said the following day, his cousin from Durban went to check on him at his flat and they spent quality time together.
However, Nxumalo said the cousin told them that after taking his medication he then fell asleep and she left.

Another relative, who was found at Nxumalo’s homestead at Lwandle, said they were a little bit confused after the cousin told them that, while they were together, DVK had allegedly asked her to take off his sandals yet he wasn’t wearing them.
“Again, the cousin said DVK told her that he could not feel his tongue and he had difficulties speaking,” the relative said.
Meanwhile,  the socialite’s mother said she tried to call him several times but he did not answer.

“I assumed that he was asleep as he did not sleep the previous night,” she said.
The ex-MP said she was told that DVK’s friend almost turned back after he found the gate locked and could not see her son’s car.
