SITEKI – A female teacher is divorcing her husband who she accuses of adultery and paedophilia.

Paedophilia is ‘a psychiatric disorder in which an adult or older adolescent experiences a primary or exclusive sexual attraction to children’.
*Thoko has alleged in her divorce papers, filed at Siteki Magistrates Court, that she once caught her husband having sex with his biological daughter, who was aged 13 years.

“Plaintiff returned home unexpectedly after having an asthma attack, to find defendant in bed with his biological child (name withheld), who was 13 years at the time,” alleged the wife in court papers.

She told the court that she informed the husband’s parents about the alleged incident but ‘they did not believe her’.
The wife further told the court that, some years later, she was informed by her sister-in-law that the husband had again allegedly slept with one of his daughters born out of wedlock.

“Defendant’s (husband) sister called plaintiff (wife) to inform her that defendant had been arrested for sexually abusing his daughter, who was now doing Grade V. He was later released on bail. Strangely, the matter never saw the light of day thereafter,” alleged the wife.
In the court papers, Thoko painted her husband as an adulterous man who had fathered many children out of wedlock.
She submitted that ever since they got married through Swazi Law and Custom on February, 14 1988, their marriage had always been plagued by serious challenges.

“After marrying in terms of Swazi Law and Custom, the parties stayed at the defendant’s parental home. The defendant was both verbally and physically abusive to plaintiff and on and about 1990, defendant was involved in a relationship with (another woman),”submitted the wife in her court papers.

She alleged that the husband also got involved in love affairs with other women, prompting her to separate with him.
She told the court, in her court papers, that after the separation, she went to study at William Pitcher Teacher Training College in Manzini. After graduating, the wife told the court that the husband requested that they reconcile, a request she accepted.

“Both parties thereafter agreed to reconcile and also agreed to contract a marriage in terms of civil rites in community of property. This later marriage was entered into on or about May 9, 1998,” reads the wife’s court papers.

The wife told the court that at the time they re-married through civil rites, the husband already had two children with different women.
She submitted that despite that the children were born out of wedlock; she agreed to stay with them so ‘as to cater for their day to day needs’.
