Top Mbabane lawyer Lucky Howe was among the 68 runners who participated in the 57th edition of the Mbabane parkrun. The lawyer, who has been in the profession for 21 years, was joined by his family; his wife, Kian and son, Tanya.
The Howe Masuku Nsibandze Attorneys partner disclosed that he was a first timer in the race.

“This is my first time partaking in this race and I should say it was a worthwhile experience. The parkrun does not only help in leading a healthy lifestyle, but can also aid as a stress reliever. I also do it for fun with my family,” Howe said.
Noteworthy was that there were more families in the latest edition, and Swazi Slojos remained the only club in eSwatini that has the largest number of attendees.

“My daughter has always been inviting me, but I could not make it. However, today (yesterday) I felt I should grant her wish. I did not regret coming here, as it was fun and refreshing. I am looking forward to the next race. This helps one to get fit and healthy,” Nkonyane said.

Meanwhile, Bubu Lukhele who was running with her daughter, Lwanele said the weekly 5km timed run provided a perfect platform for family training.
“What I like about the parkrun is that you do it in your own pace. One can bring her/his family members here to run/jog and have fun while networking and making new friends,” Lukhele said.

The overall winner of the Mbabane parkrun was Umbutfo Swaziland Defence Force (USDF) athlete Nkululeko Gama on 15:46 minutes. This was Gama’s 24th straight win since joining the weekly race. He has also managed to win outside the country, the North Beach Durban parkrun about a month ago.
