BOTSWANA PRESIDENT JETS IN, MEETS KING

MANZINI – The Republic of Botswana President Mokgweetsi Masisi and the first lady, Neo have jetted in safely into the country.


The fifth president of the Republic of Botswana, who was inaugurated in April 2018, jetted into the country for the first time after assuming office via Matsapha International Airport yesterday afternoon.


The president was welcomed by acting Prime Minister (PM) Paul Dlamini, who is the Deputy Prime Minister (DPM), Cabinet ministers and principal secretaries to mention a few.


Masisi is in the country on an official visit, is expected to stay for at least three days. His business started yesterday evening when he paid a courtesy call to His Majesty King Mswati III at Mandvulo Hall in Lozitha.


Today, the visiting president is expected to tour Sidvokodvo Farm before visiting King Sobhuza II Memorial Stadium in the afternoon.
According to his itinerary, on Saturday, Masisi is expected to tour Simunye Sugar Mill before being hosted by His Majesty King Mswati III in a dinner at Lozitha Palace and depart on Sunday.


Worth noting is the fact that, the President of Zambia Edgar Lungu also visited the Swazi Milk Farm at Sidvokodvo and the Simunye Sugar Mill during one of his visits to the country last year.
