MBABANE – The Prime Minister, Sibusiso Barnabas Dlamini, was yesterday buried alive by members of the public.

As early as 5am, the leader of government had been declared dead following his admission to the Mbabane Government Hospital’s ICU wing on Wednesday morning.

Tongues were set wagging throughout the day and the Times newsroom was inundated with calls from people who wanted to find out the true position of the PM’s health state. The calls came from politicians, high ranking government officials and even ordinary members of the public, who were convinced that Dlamini, the longest serving PM, had passed on.

Malicious

However, despite all the rumours some of which were malicious, the PM is alive according to Government Spokesperson Percy Simelane.

Social media was also abuzz, with many claiming that the premier had passed on.
Popular social media network  Facebook, was flooded with posts from people sending their condolences, while others just expressing disbelief of the news.

However, it was later revealed in the evening that the PM was in a stable condition and monitoring of the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU), by reporters from this publication who indicated that Dlamini was definitely alive.
Since morning, the PM’s personal protection officers were seen around the ICU. They included his Head of Security, Senior Superintendent Enock Zulu.

The officers’ mood seemed to have improved yesterday as they were constantly seen smiling at times.
By mid-morning, the ICU became a hive of activity with the National Commissioner of Police, Isaac Magagula, who was first to arrive at around 11am, in the company of three police officers.

Magagula went inside the unit together with the officers and spent over 30 minutes inside.
He left at around 11:30am. Shortly after his departure, the PM’s wife Primrose Simelane, arrived with Superintendent Schoolboy Simelane, who is one of the premier’s personal protection officers.

The PM’s youngest daughter, Busi Johnson, was also seen leaving the hospital with an unidentified female relative at around 2:30pm.
One of the PM’s elder daughters was also seen at the hospital with other unidentified relatives.

She was at the hospital since early morning and left at around 6pm. The PM’s elder daughter was constantly on her mobile phone.
At 6:20pm, Simelane, the Government Press Secretary, arrived at the hospital and parked at the Out Patient Department (OPD).

Lawyer

He walked all the way to the ICU where he met with the PM’s lawyer Musa Dlamini.
Musa was the first to arrive but later left and he was called immediately after Simelane’s arrival.
