MBABANE – As the distribution of the estate of the late businessman Victor Gamedze begins, two children have come out to allege that he was their biological father.

As a result, they want to be included as beneficiaries in his multimillion estate.
Initially, these two children were reportedly not included when the estate file was opened at the office of the Master of the High Court in Lubombo. The obituary stated that Gamedze was survived by his wife Princess Lungile and four children; Ngeti, Tiyandza, Tema and Gift.

In the initial file, the only beneficiaries in the estate were his wife and the aforementioned children.
The two children, a toddler and a girl in her  30s, through their guardians, have since approached the office of the Master of the High Court to lodge a claim as beneficiaries. The children are from different mothers who are known to this publication.

When reached for comment, Assistant Master of the High Court for the Lubombo Region Cebsile Ngwenya declined to comment on the matter, citing confidentiality.

This publication wanted to ascertain from Ngwenya how the distribution process was going and how her office would handle the issue of the two children who claimed to be beneficiaries.

“I am not going to comment on the matter as I am not mandated to communicate with the media on issues touching on the operations of the office,” said Ngwenya before referring this reporter to their Mbabane office and to the estate executor.
Meanwhile, efforts to get a comment from the executor of the estate, attorney Sidumo Mdladla, were unsuccessful as he could not be reached on both mobile networks.

The last attempt was made at 9pm.
However, this publication has it in authority that a claim has been lodged by the two children who are reportedly adamant that Gamedze was their biological father and they were entitled to be listed as beneficiaries.

The winding up of the late businessman’s estate has already begun following the issuance of a notice calling upon debtors and creditors to lodge their claims and pay their debts with Mdladla within 30 days of the publication of the notice.

Gamedze was known to be a wealthy man as he had more than 10 companies and an undisclosed number of properties that are expected to be disclosed during the winding up of the estate and distribution of his will.

The total value of the assets which form part of the estate is still to be ascertained as procedurally, the evaluation of the property is done.
The process may involve deciding whether to sell real estate or securities owned by Gamedze and decide whether or not probate court proceedings are needed.
