MBABANE – Chief Justice Bheki Maphalala has slam-shut the doors of all the courts in the country on senior lawyer Siboniso Clement Dlamini.

Yesterday, the chief justice said he had taken a firm stand to ban Dlamini from appearing in any court in Swaziland, until he complied with a court order compelling him to contribute a sum of E8 000 per month towards the maintenance of a sickly widow.
The widow, Phindile Ndzinisa, took Dlamini to court for allegedly squandering an amount of about E860 000 of her late husband’s estate. Dlamini, who is a former Master of the High Court, is the executor of the estate.

When the chief justice forbade Dlamini from appearing in the country’s courts, he was in court for another matter in the Supreme Court.
Dlamini represented one Sifiso Vusumuzi Sikhondze, who is appealing a decision that was issued against him in a matter he was involved in with the Mbabane Municipal Council, which was represented by Zweli Jele of Robinson Bertram.
When the matter was called at 9:20am yesterday, Dlamini, whose law firm is S.C. Dlamini and Company, and Jele introduced themselves as representatives of the parties.

Chief Justice Maphalala, who sat with Judge Benjamin Odoki and Judge Robert Cloete, wasted no time and reminded Dlamini that on May 24, 2017, in a review matter, Civil Case Number 67/2014 between himself and Ndzinisa, the court made an order.

The CJ read out the order to Dlamini, which directed that he be committed to gaol for a period of 30 days for failing to comply with the ruling directing him to pay E8 000 monthly to maintain the widow.
