MANZINI – The police claim to have noted a disturbing trend of certain influential people who want to frustrate the murder case of prominent businessman and football administrator Victor Gamedze.

The police said it came to their attention that there were certain influential individuals who met in secret places at night to stop further arrests in the Gamedze murder case.

Gamedze was killed about three weeks ago while at Ezulwini Galp Filling Station.
One suspect in businessman and Matsapha United boss Sipho Shongwe has been held in connection with the murder.
Three other suspects, Sicelo ‘Dzodzo’ Zikalala/Luthango, Mbuso ‘Ncaza’ Nkosi and another, whose name has not yet been released by the police, are still wanted.

Influential

The police said they gathered that the influential people, comprising mostly of businesspeople who were hugely interested in the murder case, meet in secret places so as to orchestrate ways of allegedly destroying it.

Such meetings are alleged to have taken place after the arrest of Shongwe and upon the publication of pictures of the suspects said to be linked in the murder.

“These people do not want this murder case to see the light of day like other cases where suspects end up getting released and trials not kicking off. We have seen murder cases similar to this one where suspects were released and no trials to date set. We strongly believe such people want this case to be similar to those ones and we are well aware of who they are,” a well-placed source within the RSP, who preferred anonymity said.
