MBABANE – “I am not intimidated.”These were the words of the National Commissioner of Police, Isaac Magagula, yesterday.

Magagula was responding to allegations posted on social media platform Facebook, by the Editor of the now defunct Swaziland Shopping Newspaper, Zweli Martin Dlamini, over the weekend.

At first, the commissioner made it known that he had no time to talk about allegations that did not serve a meaningful purpose but upon persistence by this reporter, he agreed to be interviewed on the issue.

Dlamini used the social media platform to spew bile on the commissioner, where he made a litany of allegations against him which cannot be repeated as they were not substantiated and were deemed to be defamatory. The status update was accompanied by a picture of the commissioner clad in his uniform.

Facebook users seemed interested in the post as it generated over 100 likes within a few minutes, followed by a flood of comments. In less two hours, there were over 120 comments.
Some of the Facebook users wanted Dlamini to share more on what he was talking about regarding the allegations against the commissioner, while others were seemingly supporting him (Dlamini) and concurring that a serious investigation needed to be conducted.

Dlamini appeared to enjoy the flood of comments as he spent time responding to most of them where he justified his post.
In an interview yesterday, Magagula stated that he would not waste his time and energy engaging in what he termed useless arguments as this would not serve any useful purpose.
