MBABANE – “More heads will roll in the VG saga.”  This is one of the statuses that has been posted on popular social networking site Facebook following the arrest of businessman Sipho Dumisani Shongwe for the alleged murder of prominent businessman Victor Gamedze.

As has been the norm ever since Gamedze was shot and killed a week ago at the Galp Filling Station in Ezulwini, Facebook has been abuzz with speculation as to who killed Gamedze.

Following Shongwe’s arrest, the people on social media have stated that this was just the beginning as more people were being implicated. “It is getting tougher for those still out there and one by one, they will all be arrested,” wrote another Facebook user.

Although some quarters have warned against posting some information on social media, the people are not to be deterred as others have stated that one of the alleged suspects has decided to turn into a State witness.
However, such information could not be verified.

The posts stated that there were many players involved in Gamedze’s killing  and that there was a long list of people who would be hauled in for questioning if not arrested.

The Facebook users continued to mourn Gamedze, stating that he was a man of solutions.
One wrote that looking at the multitudes who attended his funeral on Sunday, they realised that the nation had really lost a leader.
“In my history, I have never seen so many people at a funeral.

I don’t believe the killer really knew what he was doing. Surely he is regretting now,” wrote one user, without mentioning names.
He further wondered where the killer, whoever he/she was, was going to live if the courts failed to convict him.

While others were keen on writing about the arrest of more suspects, some wondered what Shongwe’s arrest meant for football in the country, especially the Premier League of Swaziland (PLS).

Although Mbabane Swallows and Matsapha United have already faced off this season, some of the social media users said they were patiently awaiting for the two teams’ future games.

They feared that there would be violence at the stadium.  They stated that the police presence at soccer games needed to be heavily beefed up.
It should be noted that Shongwe remains a suspect in Gamedze’s murder as he has not been convicted of any crime as yet.
