EZULWINI – Jub’umgwaco Mazwi Motsa was turned into a punching bag minutes after businessman and football administrator Victor Gamedze was assassinated last Sunday.

Jub’umgwaco, 32, was assaulted for allegedly shouting: ‘Ulayekile kufa loGamedze wakhona!’
To the spectators who had gathered at the Ezulwini Galp Filling Station, this statement insinuated and denoted that he was jovial and celebrating the death of the football executive.

When loosely translated it means that he got what he deserved by dying.
The staunch traditionalist and self-proclaimed acquaintance to the slain businessman, is said to have been in a questionable state of sobriety.
According to an eyewitness and one of the people who came to Jub’umgwaco’s rescue, he (witness) was speaking to the police ascertaining what had happened when he saw the public beating up someone.

He said according to what he sourced, the man was being assaulted for allegedly having said ‘ulayekile’ (it serves him right).
The eyewitness, who requested that his identity be protected said noting the anger and high tempers, he saw two men pull him away and later explained to Jub’umgwaco that it was Victor Gamedze who had been shot dead.

“It was only after he had been told that it was Victor who had been shot, that he was seen rolling on the tarmac as he was disturbed by the news he had just received.”
The eyewitness said he knew Jub’umgwaco and had also seen him with the slain businessman.
