MANZINI – “We were infuriated by the fact that he went for the woman one of us had targeted.”

This is according to one of the men who were arrested for the murder of a civil servant on New Year’s Day.
Sandile Richard Nxumalo (24) of KaKhoza made a confession before Magistrate Sebenzile Ndlela on Friday.

The two others who were arrested with him were Dumisani Muzi Mhlongo (28) of Gundvwini and Njabulo Innocent Gwebu (22) of Mhlaleni.
He narrated how the civil servant, Lucky Nhlanhla Ndlela, slowly drove to the place where Manzini sex workers are based during the night, near the Food Liner.

“We saw him driving in his car and stopping at the place where sex workers always camp for customers. It was the three of us and one of us had an intention to use the services of one of the girls there. He parked there for a few minutes and the same woman our friend was aiming for was seen boarding the man’s vehicle. We got infuriated and decided to follow them by foot. He parked his vehicle near SEDCO,” Nxumalo said.

He added that after waiting for a few minutes, they decided to attack Ndlela, who at the time was allegedly at the passenger’s seat with the woman, naked. Nxumalo revealed that after hitting the window with stones, he opened the door and pulled Ndlela out.

“When the woman tried screaming, we assaulted her with open hands and ordered her to give us valuable items, which included a black Samsung cellphone and some cash. She later escaped and at the time, my friend (accused number one) Dumsani Mhlongo, had already stabbed the man in the head. I only assaulted him with stones when he was trying to escape,” Nxumalo further revealed.
