MBABANE – Victor Gamedze will be laid to rest on Sunday. This was confirmed by his half-brother, Lugongolweni Member of Parliament (MP) Joseph Souza, during a press conference at Gamedze’s house at Dalriach yesterday.

Souza said the businessman would be laid to rest after a memorial service which will be held on Saturday at the Prince of Wales Sports Ground at 11am.
The football arena is believed to have a capacity of about 5 000 people. According to the MP, Gamedze will be laid to rest at KaLanga, near Siteki in the Lubombo Region.

Speaking on behalf of the family was Mbabane based lawyer Sidumo Mdladla, who refrained from speculations during the briefing. When asked who the family suspected could have done such an evil act, Mdladla said they could not think of anyone.
He explained that this was because of the kind of person Gamedze was.

The businessman was known to be kind and generous as he, through his various businesses helped a number of people.
This included making countless donations to locals through newly established mobile phone network company Swazi Mobile.
When Mdladla was asked about their working relations with the police and if they had received any feedback on investigations, he declined to reveal any information.

He said they wanted to allow the police to continue doing their work without any interruptions.
He also declined to comment on the issue of whether Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) footage from the filling station was of any assistance in the investigations.

“We cannot comment on that because it is also part of police investigations,” Mdladla said.
Over 10 cars were found parked outside Gamedze’s home while about 20 mourners were found within the premises.
