MBABANE – With thousands of pupils having passed in the Swaziland Primary Certificate (SPC) examination, it is obvious that most parents are now faced with the task of finding space in Form I.

The results, which were released at the end of last month, reflected that a total of 25 799 pupils passed out of 28 797 who sat for the examination.
In previous years, there has been a challenge in that most of the schools gave preference to those who had passed well, before they considered Second and Third Class passes.

However, there is hope for parents as most of the high schools around the capital city said there were spaces for pupils.
While other schools made it clear that spaces were available, others mentioned that they were still to go through the applications they received last year, after which they would look into the registration of those who were in need of spaces.

At Saim High School, it was stated that spaces were available and that the administration would begin the admission process, today.
“For now I cannot determine the exact number of spaces available since there is a committee that works on the admissions. I can safely say that spaces are available and parents can bring their children. We accepted some applications before the end of last year but it is after those pupils are fully registered that we will know how much more are needed,” said Saim High School Head teacher Sydney Mdluli.
Gucuka High School, situated around Siphofaneni area, provided this newspaper with a specific number of available spaces, saying it stood at 70.

Head teacher Ralf Nkwanyana, mentioned that there was a lot of space at the school and emphasised that the school accepted all pupils who had passed the SPC examination.
He mentioned that the admissions would begin on Wednesday and run until Friday. He said there were also spaces for other classes as well.
