MANZINI – Gospel artist Thulani Ntshangase has become a victim of the violent incidents that happen in popular places where alcohol is sold as he was stabbed while outside The Vibe.

The incident happened on Saturday night when the gospel singer, producer and socialite was stabbed by an unknown man while outside the popular entertainment place situated at Ngwane Park. Information gathered is that Ntshangase had just arrived at the place to pick up his niece who was at the place enjoying herself.

“I went inside the place and found my niece seated with other people, whom I greeted in a polite manner. While on my way out, I saw a half-naked young man following me and wielding a shiny sharp object. All of a sudden, the man stabbed me above the eye and while trying to block the knife, I also got stabbed in the hands. The man later escaped. People chased after the man, however, he vanished from the place,” Ntshangase said in an interview yesterday.

Ntshangase, who was bleeding profusely, was immediately taken to the Raleigh Fitkin Memorial (RFM) Hospital where he was treated for his injuries, stitched and discharged. He later recorded statements with the police, together with witnesses, who included his niece. He was later dropped off by the police and had his head and hands bandaged due to the injuries he sustained.

Meanwhile, a mob from Ngwane Park chased after the man who is alleged to have disappeared within the thick forests situated near the place. The people included a police officer, who had been seated at the place enjoying himself.
The suspect was later apprehended and arrested by the police.
