MTN UNVEILS FIXED WIRELESS PHONE

MBABANE – Swazi MTN has unveiled the new fixed wireless phone that can connect up to 32 people on the internet wirelessly.


The fixed wireless phone, which comes with a router which Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ambrose Dlamini termed the ‘real’ fixed wireless, was unveiled during a dinner convened by Swazi MTN for High Value Customers at the Summerfield Botanical Gardens on Thursday.


He said they were allowed by the Technology Neutral Licence to unveil the new product intended at ensuring that they were indeed a leader in digital transformation of the Swazi nation. The latest innovation had come about as a result of the company embracing the country’s vision to become a First World country by 2022.


“This development, currently being tested in readiness for implementation, is almost ready for roll-out.”


Packages


Swazi MTN would launch the fixed data and voice packages.
He said the voice package would be able to do on-net, off-net and international calls. Our data solution can connect up to 32 devices simultaneously. He explained that this could be other phones, laptops, Smart TV’s, IP security, cameras and many more.


“This effectively means that you can transform your whole home into a smart home and allow your children to do more research on the internet through other devices or television. Customers can now view their Netflix, YouTube and other interesting networks at cheaper pricing and lightning speed internet.”


Head of Business Enterprise, Thandazile Dlamini said the fixed wireless solution was anticipated to bring value in business and at home, to ensure that the whole family has access to data (which is gradually becoming a basic need).
