MINISTERS TURN XMAS PARTY INTO ‘CAMPAIGN RALLY’

PIGGS’ PEAK – A Christmas Party organised for the elderly turned out to be an open campaign day for the reelection of Minister of Commerce Industry and Trade Jabulani ‘Buy Cash’ Mabuza where ministers and MPs urged the Pigg’s Peak Inkhundla electorate to retain their incumbent MP.


The politicians included Cabinet Ministers David ‘Cruiser’ Ngcamphalala and Owen Nxumalo.The former is the Minister of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs while the latter is the Minister of Public Service.
Other legislators who came to support ‘Buy Cash’ were Ntfonjeni Member of Parliament, popularly known as Sompisi, and the other one was the long-serving Siphofaneni Member of Parliament Gundwane Gamedze.
Also in attendance was Chief Mnikwa and Bucopho from the different chiefdoms under the constituency.


There are six chiefdoms in Piggs’ Peak Inkhundla, namely: Luhlangotsini, Luhhumaneni, Nginamadvolo, Bulembu, Piggs’Peak and Nsangwini.
The massively attended event took place at Killaney Sports Ground yesterday where close to a 1 000 people attended. The country’s giant mobile company - MTN, also used the day to promote its products.
As early as 10am, the stadium was packed to the rafters and different gospel groups took turns on the MTN Mobile stage in entertaining the energic crowd. The first gospel group was Police Gospel Messengers who can be said were the top performer of the day among them all.


During the performances, the Ministers joined the elderly in dance within the arena. The second performance was by Apostle Maculuve. The reception from the crowd and the politicians was still positive as they danced for the duration of the songs.
The programme director of the day was popular radio personality Gcebile ‘The White Hippo’ Mvubu.


She was also in the company of her colleagues who also took turns in playing their roles, much to the amusement of the people who braved the high temperatures.
Each and every speaker who took to the stage made sure that he or she appreciated the work that the Piggs’ Peak MP has done for the people and made sure that in conclusion remarks, they urged the attendees to make the right thing-voting him back.
