MBABANE – When his friend walked him home after a night out, little did he know that he was seeing him for the last time.

This is the story of a man of Mangwaneni, who was discovered dead yesterday morning after he allegedly slipped and fell from a steep hill at his homestead and hit a rock situated at his neighbour’s home, which is at the bottom of the steep hill.

It is alleged that when the incident occurred, it was already dark and no one noticed the man until the next morning.
The man was discovered by one of his neighbours, Sakhile Matsaba, at about 6am, motionless and facing down.
Matsaba is said to have called his roommate, one Phinda Dlamini and together they went closer to try and wake him up, only to find that he was already dead.

His identity has been concealed because it could not be ascertained if his next of kin had been informed about the incident or not.
The neighbours said he was last seen during the day at around 3pm, chilling with his friends and that they later walked to a nearby drinking spot where they usually hang out.

At around 7pm, his drinking mate is said to have walked him home as he always did after a night out.
“We believe that he fell from the steep hill just after he had returned from drinking alcohol with his friend.
“Since this is a steep hill, you could see from the way he was lying that he must have tried to gain his strength or tried to hold on to something but eventually fell.

“It would not have been possible to hear him even if he had screamed because we were inside our houses at that time watching television,” Phinda said.
