‘PASTOR THREATENS TO SHOOT, BURN EVERYONE IN HOMESTEAD’

MBABANE – The role of pastors is to provide counseling and protect people among others; however, Pastor Ndoda Mavimbela is accused of threatening to shoot and burn occupants of a Dlamini homestead.

The occupants include Khanyisile Simelane, children and a couple, Sibusiso Dlamini and Ntombi Ginindza who live at the same homestead.

As a result of the animosity, Khanyisile and the couple have since run to court seeking a peace binding order.
Stating their side of the story before Mbabane Magistrate Sifiso Vilakati, the couple informed the court that Mavimbela was abusive to them to the extent that they had since reported him to the police.

They said Mavimbela had on several occasions threatened to shoot the children he found within the Dlamini homestead.
The duo told the court that the man of God, who was against their stay at the Dlamini homestead, also threatened to burn them inside their houses.
“He ordered me to remove all my belongings from the Dlamini homestead, stating that he would burn my house if I failed to do so,” said Ginindza.

Dlamini informed the court that Mavimbela, who allegedly had a tendency of insulting him, threatened to shoot and burn him.
However, when stating his side of the story, Mavimbela told the court that the duo had nothing to do with the homestead in question since it belonged to the Mavimbelas instead of Dlaminis. He said he did not understand the duo’s interest in the matter.

“I never threatened to shoot anybody but I warned them to beware of the dogs because I felt they were trespassing,” Mavimbela said.
After listening to both parties, Vilakati issued an order that Mavimbela was interdicted and restrained from threatening Khanyisile Simelane and the couple with force and violence. The pastor was ordered to keep and maintain peace with Simelane and all the occupants of the Dlamini homestead.
