MANZINI – A barefooted man with plaited hair was found dead with a stab wound to his chest, multiple cuts and scratches outside Bhalekane Bar yesterday morning.

The man, who is still to be identified by relatives, was allegedly seen by patrons watching the Orlando Pirates versus Mamelodi Sundowns match on Wednesday night. This was revealed by some of the people who were present inside the bar during questioning by the Mliba police.

The victim, who had plaited cornrows was wearing a V-neck grey sleeveless t-shirt, blue jeans and had a wooden Roman Catholic rosary. It was also gathered that beside the body of the man was an Orlando Pirates cap, a R10 note and a E2 coin.

“He could have been wearing the same cap and most probably got involved in an altercation as he was an Orlando Pirates fan. The team lost against Sundowns on the night and we suspect that a fight ensued afterwards, leading to the man’s stabbing outside the bar.

“The man was also not stabbed while inside the bar as there was no pool of blood where he was found. It is strongly suspected that he could have been killed somewhere outside the entertainment place and then brought near the bar as he had been having alcoholic drinks there prior to his death,” Mliba Police Station Desk Officer Sergeant Poison Motsa said yesterday.

Motsa further revealed that no one had been arrested for the fatal attack and residents did not have an idea who the man was.
This incident comes after a woman was found dead near Luve last week. it is suspected that she was pushed out of a moving vehicle or she could have jumped off while the car was in motion. Days after the police looked for her relatives, she was positively identified by her family.
