SITEKI – Former Swazi TV employee Lenny Shoulder has died.

He passed on while undergoing treatment at the Mbabane Government Hospital on Tuesday morning, his family said.
According to a family member, Lenny had been admitted to the hospital after suffering a stroke about two week ago.

“We heard that he was driving when he suddenly suffered a stroke and he was rushed straight to hospital after the incident,” said Gogo Triaphina Shoulder from Lenny’s parental home, at Mzilikazi near Siteki.

She added that though Lenny had been seriously ill for the past two weeks, the family was hopeful he would recover.
She said the whole family was devastated by Lenny’s death.

“He was with us about three weeks ago, during a funeral of a relative. He was always smiling and he never forgot us despite that he spent most of his time around Mbabane,” added Gogo Triaphina.
The deceased’s sister, Busisiwe Shoulder, said the family was yet to meet to discuss funeral arrangements.

She said after the meeting today, she would issue a formal statement to the media.
Lenny worked for many years at Swazi TV and he was part of the station’s employees who took early retirement some years ago.

By the time he retired, he held the position of Marketing Manager and he was also the English news anchor for a while, according to a former colleague.
His cousin, Lucy Shoulder, said Lenny would be remembered for his proficiency in the spoken English language.
