ALLEGED RAPIST BITES OFF FIGHTING GIRL’S LIP

MANZINI – A teenage girl has been left traumatised and disfigured after an alleged rapist bit off a large chunk of her lower lip.

The alleged rapist, Mxolisi Sifundza (28) of Fairview, is said to have first forced himself onto the teenage girl before ripping her lower lip when she tried to escape from his clutches.

In her own account of the rape ordeal, the girl, *Ntsiki aged 17, narrated in court how she bolted out of the house naked and bleeding profusely from the mouth after Sifundza had allegedly bitten off her lip. Sifundza had appeared before Principal Magistrate David Khumalo for trial.

The incident is said to have occurred at Moyeni, near Fairview, after the alleged rapist had lured *Ntsiki from a popular bar in town to his house.
*Ntsiki said she met Sifundza at the bar while she was looking for her friend who had requested that she fetches her from the place so they could go home together.

“The accused person came and greeted me while I was at the bar and enquired what I was doing there. I told him that I had been requested by a friend of mine to fetch her so we could both go home. The suspect asked me to accompany him to his friends at Moyeni. He claimed that his friends were police officers and would probably have an idea where my friend was.

He also made me comfortable and joked around, saying he would tell his police friends that I was his sister to allow them a chance to propose marriage to me,” *Ntsiki alleged.
The complainant said after sweet-talking her and realising that she would be safe with the police, she eventually agreed and left town with Sifundza to Moyeni, where his alleged police ‘friends’ were.
